Sunset over the Amarantidis family fields in Kapnochori, Kozani

Our story

Three generations, one commitment to quality

Our story

Our life in farming isn't just a career — it's a family legacy spanning over half a century of love for the land and its produce.

1stgeneration

Saoul Amarantidis

It began with a love of the land at Kapnochori, Kozani.

2ndgeneration

Leonidas Amarantidis

Built the company's reputation through sheer graft.

3rdgeneration

Charis & Kyriakos Amarantidis

Continuing today with modern production methods.

The Beginning

It all started in 1970 with Saoul Amarantidis, the founder of our business. With vision, hard work and deep knowledge of cultivation, he laid the foundations for potato and onion production, passing his love of the land on to the generations that followed.

Building the business

The baton passed to Leonidas Amarantidis, who, through sheer determination and hard work, built on his father's vision. Leonidas established us in the market, modernising how we farmed and scaling production sharply. He made our name a byword for reliability and flavour.

Today

Today, the family's third generation continues the journey with the same passion, taking AMAR AGRO further still. With respect for tradition and an eye on the needs of the modern market, we have built our business around three things:

  • Planned production — We farm to the same honest standards, always choosing the best varieties of the Kozani region.
  • Purpose-built packing — We invest in modern packaging facilities, ensuring that Kozani potatoes and onions reach the consumer fresh, so they reach the customer in full condition.
  • Distribution — We build lasting relationships with our partners across Greece, supplying produce that meets tight specifications and stands out for its flavour.
